Last post of 2008

Sad aint it? This is the last post I will ever do in the year 2008. Only a few hours to go till the new year. And guess what I will be doing? Sleeping. I gotta work tomorrow at 730am.

Mcmanis seems to be struggling through level 68. Still there and at about 75 percent through. Hang in there little fella.

Doh!

Check out the cool Homer Simpson slippers that I got. They are pretty comfortable and with the freezing weather we have been having, they keep my feet nice and toasty. Plus, its pretty dang funny too.

Mcmanis to level 68

Mcmanis is still truckin' through content. Just hit level 68 last night while questing in Nagrand. He did a few of the Nessingwary quests out there. I think he is pretty much done with Terokar forest for now. Gotta move on. Only got 2 levels to go to get to 70 and still have 3 regions he hasn't touched yet. I think I may head over to blades edge as well to see what it has to offer.

Anyway, irl. It is very cold here today again. We just got back from Santa Fe last night after spending a couple of nights at Moms. Had a great christmas. :)

New level, New gear

Questing in Terokar has paid off for Mcmanis. Just dinged level 67 and was able to get a load of new gear as you can tell. Thinking about finishing up a few more quests here before heading to Nagrand and Blades Edge. Getting pretty close to being able to handle Northrend. He went there at level 66 to look around. But the mobs there were still a bit much for him to handle.

Meanwhile, the weather in real life has been dismal to say the least. Very cold and windy today. Not a big fan of the wind. But its winter and its to be expected. Christmas is just around the corner and we are going up to Santa Fe to hang with the fam. I have a 4 day weekend coming up so I am looking forward to that. Just gotta get through today and tomorrow at work and then I am home free.

Schedule change at work

Its shift bid time.  Well, it was shift bid time like 2 days ago and now I have a brand spankin' new shift at work.  And here it is.  The new shift is.............  Monday through Thursday, 8am to 7pm.  yay!  A three day weekend.  Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.  No way.  That's pretty cool.  I am pretty pleased with it.  It starts today but since today is Sunday, I am off.  Back to work tomorrow.  Working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  I am off on Thursday because it is Christmas.  So that means 4 day weekend!.  Yay!

Winter veil

The feast of winter veil is upon us and Mcmanis is chugging along and is up to level 66 now. Still quite a few quests remaining in Terokar forest. Gonna finish those up and head to Nagrand next.

Poor milly!

I just love this picture of our dog Molly. It was taken when she was about 4 months old. She is a lot bigger now. I can't seem to remember her being this small. But I guess when you see your pets everyday, you don't notice them growing.

Mcmanis to level 65

Mcmanis jumped another level last night to 65. Getting close to 70 now. Very exciting stuff. Unless you don't like world of warcraft. Then its not so exciting.

The tree is up!

Put up the christmas tree the other day. Looks pretty good except for the cluster of lights at the top aren't working. I tried changing the bulbs but still no dice. Oh well. It still looks pretty good. This is its 3rd Christmas with us and its hanging in there despite having 4 cats. Will it survive the feline fury this year? Time will tell.

Levelin' again

Looks like Mcmanis is at it again. Up another level to 64. Only one skill available from the trainer though. Raptor Strike. Usually its like at least a few that you get. Not this time. Still hangin' out in Zangar. Might head over to Terokar for a bit to see what quests have in store for him there.

I have been trying to complete a set of armor that I have been buying on the auction house. Its the Fel Iron Chain set. Right now I have the head, chest and gloves. All I need is the bracers and I cant find them any were. I have been checking the auction house every few hours and nothing. Its not a drop. Its something that blacksmiths make. I even did some shout outs and no one responds. What do I have to do to get this piece of armor. pretty soon, Mcmanis is going to level some more and not even need it. Maybe I will log in now and check to see if its on the AH. I doubt it though.

Dizzy in Zangarmarsh

Thought I would drop a quick post about Mcmanis hitting level 63. Questing in Zangarmarsh and getting close to level 64. Seems to be going pretty smoothly except for the poor fps I have been getting here. Probably due to my laptop cheapness. Kinda depressing. I already have all my video settings turned all the way down. Oh well. You gotta make due with what you have I guess. :(

Another couple a levels

Mcmanis keeps on truckin' through the outlands and has reached level 62 now. Got some new gear courtesy of the auction house as well. I think it may be about time to head to Zangarmarsh to continue his questing adventures.

Epic

Finally got enough gold to get Mcmanis the epic skeletal horse. Purdy sweet eh? It cost a total of 560 gold. Now he can roam the countryside 40 percent faster than the regular horse. Next stop, flying mount at 70. See ya there.

Biopsy

Just got home after getting my thyroid biopsy.  Not too pleasant an experience to say the least.  I thought that it would be only one needle in and out.  No!  They stabbed me 6 times in all.  That's not including the 3 shots of the local anesthetic they gave me too.  The whole process went pretty quick.  Around 10 minutes.  But I don't think I would want to go through that again.

Sick

Not feeling too good today. I think I am sick although I am in denial. Hopefully it will pass quickly. I must have blown my nose a hundred times today. My nose won't stop running and I keep sneezing. Ahh, who am I kidding. I'm sick. :(

Milestone for the "Just Chillin'" blog

It seems that we have come to the end of another month.  November '08 is coming to a close and there are just a few hours left.  This post will make the 30th post for the month in just as many days.  pretty impressive considering that the most posts I have done prior was about ten.  I guess I just had a lot to say.  Or maybe I played WoW more than usual.  Who knows.  I just wanted to post that it has been done.  And without this post, there would be only 29 which is not were I wanted to end the month.  I am not sure that December will contain as many posts.  Maybe less, maybe more.  To be honest, I believe that I am the only one that reads this blog.  Although anyone has access to it, I think the internet is very saturated with these types of blogs.  Besides, if someone would happen to come across my blog and read it,  It probably would not make much sense unless the reader was a world of warcraft enthusiast.  In the extreme rare event that someone other than myself is reading this right now, Please leave me a comment. Milestone for McManis

My toon McManis hit level 60 today finally. Took a little while since I started the day trying to get his mining to 300 which he acheived. Then off to hellfire were he quested and grinded out the former "max" level of WoW.

Little white bear

Check out this little bear that blizz gave everyone in celebration of their 4 year anniversary. Its cute and all but I am already done with it. I already have a ferocious pet to follow me around. Actually I got 2 now. Greyness is my dog and the newest member of the Mcmanis family is Steve. My bear from Felwood.

New pet

I decided to get rid of Lars after nearly 60 levels with him. The beat up wolves in Felwood caught my eye and I just had to have one. So I tamed one and named him Greyness. He's pretty cool. I think I may tame one of the beat up bears too. Probably should do it soon since they are level 52 and I am at 59 now. It takes a while to level them up if they are far below your level.

Outlands

McManis hit level 58 and then 59 and is questing out in the outlands now.  Recently, I took him back to Azeroth to try to get his Mining and Herbalism up to 300 so I can collect herbs and ore in the Outlands.  So far I have herbalism up to 300 but mining is still at 278.  Once I get his mining up to 300, I will take him back out to the outlands.

Heinz 57

Up another level to 57. One more level till outlands. Mcmanis finished up some quests in un goro crater and now is in felwood knocking out some quests. What will probably happen is that one he is at 58, he will abandon all azeroth quests and start fresh in outlands. That seems to work better since the xp gains in outlands are so great.

Cochiti lake

This picture was taken a couple of months ago when we decided to drive up to Cochiti lake up near Santa Fe. There was a little boat dock on the water that Molly absolutely refused to walk on. But, after a little a little while, she finally decided to go out on it once she determined it was safe. Poor Millie.

Another level

I wasn't expecting to level last night while playing but level I did with Mcmanis and now he is at 56. I did a few quests in Un Goro crater and that was enough to put him over the top. 2 more levels to go in Azeroth before he heads through the dark portal.

Miami sunset

Here is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken. The picture was taken off the coast of Miami on the cruise ship "Enchantment of the seas" on October 8th 2007. Takes me back every time I see it.

Jury duty

It seems that registering to vote now days gets you a free pass to jury duty. For the second time, I have been selected for jury duty. I went to the orientation today. Not too thrilled about it but I gotta do what I gotta do I guess. The minimum wage they will pay us is a major incentive. Not! Oh well, its something I guess.

On a mission

Once again, Mcmanis has leveled and is now at level 55. Wandering through searing gorge never seemed so easy. He has completed the quests there and moved on the un goro crater for a brief tour while he works his way toward 56.

Level 54 Hunta!

Mcmanis is moving up in the world.  Up to level 54 now.  Only 4 more levels till outlands.  I am still diggin' the hunter thing in the game.  It is really fun.  Anyways, see ya at level 55.

Exalted!

Whew. Finally got it done. Exalted with the Undercity. I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it but here I am. Mcmanis, my level 53 blood elf hunter, started back at deathknell doing the noob quests and then worked his way to brill, silverpine and tarren mill. Then found a buch of quests to do in the apothecarium in undercity. But that's not it. He also did shadowfang keep and razorfen kraul. Plus, he purchased and turned in about a thousand pieces of runecloth. That put him over the top and gave him the ability to purchase the undead steed you see here. Woo hoo!

Deathknight

Here he is. My troll deathknight Kobyashi. He is at level 58 now after finishing the extensive quest chain to get out of the starting area. The quests are extremely cool and a lot different than the quests I am used to. I took him to the outlands to continue his quest for level 80.

Avs do it again!

Here we go.  Avs get a shootout win against the Edmonton Oilers last night for their 3rd straight win.  Darcy Tucker gets the game winning goal and what an awesome goal it was.  The Avs are starting to look good again.  They keep seeming to go on streaks.  Either losing or winning.  I myself like the winning ones.  Duhh!  Right now the Avs are 8-8 and I hope they keep up the good fortune.  Budai once again looked pretty good.  And Sakic is still out for a while.  Not sure when he will be returning to the ice.  But the Avs seem to have things under control at least for the time being.

Mexican food? Or just food?

Some people would argue wether Panchos mexican buffet is actually "mexican food". It says its mexican food. It must be. I don't consider it to be mexican food. But I still love it. Maybe its an acquired taste. After all, I was just a kid when our family went there on a regular basis. My brother and sister thought my parents had good taste. Or were they just trying to save money? I would tend to believe the latter now that I am older and wiser. Don't be dissin' the panchos. You don't have to go there if you don't want to. As for me? Its been way too long since I raised that flag.

Avs Back On Track?

It may be to early to tell. Coming off their second straight win, the Avs look promising. Let's hope they can keep up the momentum. Budai seems to be showing some hustle out there but it will take a lot of work before he is considered one of the elites in the league. And what's up with Sakic? Have the Avs shown to us that they can handle things without him?

Lich King: Day One

The expansion consisted of one disc. Nice. A lot better than having to install 4 different cds as was the case with burning crusade. The install went smoothly. Didn't take too long. Then it had to run some updates that kinda took a while. Finally done and ready to log in. Queued up and number 500 in line. Sheesh. Waited about 30 minutes and finally got in. I went right to creating a death knight. Kobyashi is his name and he is a troll. Looks pretty sick with his black gear. Played a little to get a feel for him and was overall impressed. Really fun. Then I wanted to check out northrend so I logged my pally and headed over to stormwind harbor. First time there and I liked it. Really big place. Took the boat over after spending about 15 minutes trying to figure out what boat it was. I arrived in northrend to find out that the other 1000 people there were causing so much lag it was almost unplayable. Hit the grif and logged out. Gonna try at another time when the population dies down.

The answer is 53

Lich king day! The wow expansion launched today and the answer to my previous posts about what level I would be at when it comes out is 53. I am going to pick up the expansion after work at best buy. Looking forward to trying it out although I am not sure if I will install it tonight. Its going to be hard not to but our shows are on tonight. Office, earl, kath and kim and survivor.

Tack another one on

Hit level 53 last night after the servers came back up. Then grinded some rep in tirisfal glades. Trying to get exalted with undercity so I can get an undead steed instead of the turkey I am riding now. So far I am about 30 percent through revered.

Wow Servers down!

Oh no.  The realms have been down for some time now.  Apparently, they had an issue were everyone lost the contents of their mailboxes and that is not a good thing.  Typically, the servers are down no more than a few hours on Tuesdays.  But today, it has been about 12 hours now.  Its not really a big deal for me.  But I know that there are a lot of people out there that are furious.  I would like to play right now don't get me wrong.  But it is what it is.  I know how these situations can be and right now Blizzard is probably freaking out trying their darndest to get this fixed.

Woot! Avs break losing streak

Finally the avs break their losing streak with a win over nashville on saturday. And a shutout too. Though the score was 1-0, I hoped they would had scored more goals. But a win is a win and I'll take that action. Keep it up budai.

Up ta 52 now

Well, there you see it. Not too clearly since I took it with my phone. But level 52 never the less. Levels seem to be flying by for some reason. Maybe the new patch made it easier or something. Anyway, see ya at level 53.

Fitty One

Up to level 51 now.  Did a bunch of quests in Hinterlands and Tanaris.  Only 7 more levels until I can get into the Outalnds.  Woo Hoo. :)

Not good

Comon' avs! The colorado avalanche have now lost 5 in a row and I am not too happy about that to say the least. They started out the season by losing 3 in a row but then bounced back and won 5 in a row. Now they are back to losing again. I hope that this curse will end soon. If not, say bye bye to the playoffs.

Wrong again

Ok so, I made the prediction that I would be at level 49 when the world of warcraft expansion came out. Well, here we are with a week to go until it is released and good ole mcmanis is sitting at level 50 almost 51. So, you know what? No more predictions. When the expansion comes out, I will be at the level I will be at when it gets released. Amen.

Historic Day

Today woke up with a new president and I couldn't be happier. Especially because I had something to do with it. I voted for the first time yesterday and it felt great. Now we can all have the opportunities we all deserve in america.

The lich king

Well, I broke down and pre-ordered the wow expansion at best buy. I couldn't pay full price for it though. It was like 5 dollars and I guess I pay the remainder when it gets released. Looking forward to trying it out. It will probably take like 5 hours to install like the burning crusade did. :(

Punkin patch

Today we went to the wagner farms pumpkin patch in corrales. It was fun. We went through the corn maze and petted some animals. Soph got like 20 pumpkins and is painting faces on them right now.

Halloween

Went to step brother Toms halloween party last night. Had a good time. He really decked his house out with all sorts of scary things. There were a lot of trick or treaters in the hood as well. Couldn't stay long though since I had to get to work early this morning.

Still leveling.

Up to level 48 now with Mcmanis. Leveling seems to be going a little faster since the patch. Pretty fun so far. I decided to take a peek at my level 60 warrior "Marquez" and respec his talent tree. He is able to dual weild 2 handed weapons now which is totally awesome. I still need to respec my other guys too but it takes a little time to figure out what you want to do. So, all in good time.

Another couple of levels

Here we are at level 46 now. Just got my skills and heading back to stranglethorn vale for some more quests. More updates coming soon.

Level 44

Well, I know I said that I would hit level 44 about the time lich king came out. But here I am at 44 and we still have about a month to go until the expansion. I actually had a lot of free time to play this weekend since the wife went to her college reunion in Iowa. She is coming back tomorrow so I won't be playing as much. So new prediction. I will be at level 49 when the expansion comes out.

Avs get first win!

Yay! Finally the avs get a win this year. After feeling kind of depressed with the avs going 0-3 to start the season, the avs kill the flyers and what an awesome game it was. I am so happy. Now they need to keep it up.

By the way, I am typing this post on my blackberry curve at work. Coolness.

Crackberry

Here I am with another phone again. I traded my Voyager to someone at work for a Blackberry Curve and I love it. I should have got a Curve a long time ago. I can see why they are so addicting. I got one for my wife about a month ago and she loves it. So now we both have blackberries.

Let It Rain

It rained all night last night and it was great. We havent got rain in quite a while. The balloon fiesta got cancelled this morning. Bad news for balloonists I guess.

Another Season Starting

Well, here we are again, Another season is staring and we are doing ok in  pre-season right now.  Avs are 2-1 so far and looking pretty good.  A lot of people say that the Avs will not do good this year.  I disagree. They will do better than most people might think.  That's a big matzo ball to throw out there but I am confident in them this year.  There is something in the air.  We will see what happens I guess.

Update:  World of Warcraft.  My blood elf hunter just dinged 37 today.  Its been pretty fun so far.  Just trying to level as fast as I can.  The wrath of the lich king is set to be released on November 13th.  I predict that my hunter will be at 44 when it comes out.

Mounted

Back at WoW and to level 31 now. Got my mount which was impossible at 31 before. They changed it. Its a blue hawkstrider and not bad. Should make questing easier now.

Sandia Mountains

We went to the Sandia Mountains a couple of days ago and rode the chair lift up to the top. Over 10,000 feet. There were a couple of hang gliders up there that ran off the top of the mountain. It was pretty cool. This was the last weekend that the ski area will be open since we are coming upon labor day. It will open again for the summer on memorial day.

Level 25

I thought this time I will post something without adding a picture. Mainly because I am lazy right now and dont feel like uploading one to photobucket. Anyways, I hit level 25 like 5 days ago with my blood elf hunter, McManis. Havent really played much since. havent been feeling it lately for some reason. I have actually been catching up on the tv show Lost. I'm up to date now. I watched the entire 4th season in like 3 days. I am sorry to hear that Lost may not return until January 2009. I was hoping for September of this year.

Moving Up.

Things have been going pretty quick in the leveling department since my last post. McManis is up to level 24 now. Only 6 more levels and I can get my chicken. Woo Hoo! I already have enough money for it too so thats good. Anyway, I will keep on truckin' and post again soon. Laterz.

Eve Online

Here is a game I used to play a while back. Actually, I started playing it around the end of 2003 and have been off again on again ever since. There is just something about it that keeps bringing me back. Maybe because its a space game and I love outer space. Or maybe I like it because the graphics are so dang cool. Who knows. One thing I do know is that I miss it and want to start playing again. I will give it a little time. Anyways, the website is here if you want to check it out. See ya.

Blood Elf Hunter

Well, I started a blood elf hunter and got him up to level 20 so far. It has been going pretty quick so far. Only 10 more levels and I can get a mount. Can you believe that? Cool. I am enjoying playing him so far. I will update often on him here.

The Big Seven Oh.

Well, I finally did it. Level seventy here at last. It took forever. Well, actually it took a little over 19 days of actual play time to achieve this. Seems like longer than that though. Oh well, I am so glad I finally made it. Its a great sense of accomplishment. I re-specked my guy to protection and now I need to practice that a bit and start doing some raids.

69 Dude!

Well, one more level to go. I'm at 69 now and like 17 percent through. It's probably going to take forever. I just have to do alot of quests and I will be there.
