Oh no!

This is the last official day of my 30's. Kinda of weird. Oh well. Life goes on I guess. It's not really bothering me too much. Just another day I guess. 🍺

2011 Coming to a close

I cant believe that 2011 is almost done. I haven't really had to many blog posts this year. Oh well. Not like anyone really reads these anyway. We are already over halfway done with December and still no snow. Well, we had a little but its gone now. Nothing real major though. That's always good. But I am expecting to get dumped on any day now though.

SWTOR

It's on like dk. I received my early access pass today. Logged in and had a blast. Servers were packed and there was a lot of que times happening. But that's expected on a release like this. I wanted to log in to a server my friend at work is on. But the que was so long, I had to choose another just so I could start playing. I love it. I hope more of my friends start playing. My wow account will expire and I don't see myself resubing any time soon. Swtor ftw.

A bit of travel

Doh! Only 2 posts for November? I have been neglecting the blog this year. I have some serious catching up to do. Anyway, I went to new Mexico last week to visit the family for thanksgiving. It was ok. Good to see everyone again. Had a bit of green chile. Not as much as I would have liked though. Had a good time though. Got to see my new niece and nephew. Very cute. We had to take 3 different flights to get out there. Cedar rapids to Chicago. Chicago to Phoenix. Phoenix to Albuquerque. And the same route back. I think next time we will hopefully take a more direct route. Too many planes.

In other news. Star wars the old republic is coming soon. In about 2 weeks. I can't wait. It's gonna be fun. I am going to create a sith warrior to start out with. A few friends at work are playing too. It may be my wow replacement for a while.

Cold

The weather has taken a turn for the worse. It been pretty cold lately. Around 30 degrees. Not liking it one bit. But winter is almost here, so it is to be expected. We had a little snow a couple of weeks ago, but it has melted off.

I am going to be heading to New mexico for the holiday weekend. looking forward to it. Gotta get my fix of green chile.

Back to playing WoW a bit. Not liking the changes they have made recently. Not sure how much longer I am going to play. Star Wars the old republic is coming out soon. I got a beta invite that should occur this weekend, so I am looking forward to that too.

Another WoW break

My Wow subscription has expired again. I am playing rift and league of legends. Really liking rift. Got one character to 20 and another to 13. Having fun. Rick is having pc issues so it has been a challenge for him to play. We are still trying to figure out what is going on with it. Hopefully we will get it fixed.

In other news, it's Sunday which means tomorrow is the dreaded m word. Ugh. Not looking forward to it at all.

Incredibooth

Just downloaded an app called incredibooth. It's pretty cool. I am in to the vintage type of things. Not sure how much I will use it. But it was free so that's always good.

LOL

Played a bit of League Of Legends tonight. It's different than wow. A lot different. I am still learning it and I am starting to like it. Had a blast tonight playing. Got up to level 3. I guess the level cap is 30. I have a ways to go.

New games

I'm trying out some new games. World of Warcraft is cool and all, but I have been getting a little burnt. Dungeons and dragons online and lord of the rings online a great alternatives that I really like. I recently downloaded age of Conan and it as well is pretty good. Rift has a free trial weekend going on now so I am downloading it. Also I decided to give league of legends a try. Heard some pretty good things about it. So my pc has been doing some overtime in the download area lately. I should be able to game it up tomorrow night.

Still here

Yea yea. I'm still here. Just haven't posted a blog in a while. October is almost halfway over so I thought I would write something. Had another post op follow up with the endocrinologist today. Everything is cool in the gang. Next appointment in February. Been playing a bit of wow. Not much though. My sister in law just had a baby boy on the 7th. Seth is his name. Very cute. So that means that Charles won't be on the game in a while.

Hard to do.

I don't know why. But it seems pretty hard for me to post anything that doesn't have to do with the weather. I don't like it. So this post will not mention the word...... Uh. Dang. Too late. Oh well. Let's move on. My Warcraft account expired a few days ago and I have not renewed it yet. I already kind of miss it. But I am going to be strong and hold out for a bit. I have been playing a little dungeons and dragons online and lord of the rings online. Both great games. And free. That's always good. I have also been playing a little pocket legends on my iPhone. Pretty fun little game. I think I am up to level 14. I shall return to wow in the near future though. Not sure when. I usually take these little breaks a couple of times a year. I think it's good so I don't get burned out.

Meanwhile. Guess who finally gave us a release date? That's right. Star wars the old republic. Very nice. I want to play it pretty bad. But, one thing to remember. It will cost about 50 bucks to buy the game first. So I will have to see where I am at financially at that time. Maybe I will ask for it for Christmas or my birthday since they both fall in December. I will be playing a sith warrior eventually. The force will be strong with me.

Getting cooler

The weather has been getting a bit cooler lately. You know what that means? Yea. Temperatures are lower. That's right. Been pretty nice actually. Not too hot. Not too cold. Well, thanks for reading another lame ass post about the weather. The next paragraph won't be about the weather.

The hawkeyes won this weekend. I didn't watch the game. But I heard they made a 4th quarter run and beat Pittsburg in the final minutes. That's always good. But I still think they have a rough season ahead of them. I have been watching only a few minutes of the NFL lately. Gotta step up my game.

Razer Naga

Some day you will be mine. Not sure if it's worth 90 bucks. But it sure is cool. I need a better mouse. Mine is very crappy. Hopefully one day I can get a new one.

Still mowing

Just mowed the lawn today. The weather is starting to cool down a bit. I am not sure how many mows are left in the season. I remember last year, I was mowing well into October. So it looks like I got a few more.

September already?

Wow. Where has the summer gone? It's almost over. Hard to believe.
The weather is still pretty hot though. Right now, there is a pretty
nasty thunderstorm going on. It's kinda cool. But Molly is not liking
it one bit. Poor thing. It's pretty late right now so I think I am

WoW Update

Been playing a little WoW lately. Got my Undead warrior to level 85 now and am working on randoms. Pretty fun stuff. Just trying to gear him up so I can run heroics. This dang heroics are hard. I have yet to get through one. I guess its all about getting the right group.

I am still unclear of my WoW future once SWTOR comes out. I really want to play it. I am hoping it will come out soon. We will see what happens I guess.

Old pictures

Not sure why I am in to all this vintage looking stuff. But I am. Found another app that makes pictures look old. I like it. I also like old worn out clothing too. Weird, I know.

On another note, I had my post op follow up just a little while ago. Everything looking good. It's been 2 weeks since my surgery and I'm feeling pretty good.

Thyroidless

Surgery is done. Now on the road to recovery. I have been feeling a little better each day. It's been 5 days and I am so glad it's done. Still can't believe I had surgery. I was always dreading the day. But it wasn't too bad. Felt like I took a nap with no dream. Anyway, it's back to work on Monday. I should be ok to work I think.

U2

Went to Minneapolis this last weekend and saw U2 at the TCF bank stadium. Uh, awesome. It was very cool. Even the torrential downpour that we received didn't alter the cool factor. This was the biggest concert I have ever been to. And one of the best.

Surgery

My first ever surgery is coming up soon. August 1st. I am having a thyroidectomy. Not looking forward to it. But if it can resolve this pain in my neck I have been having for the last 3 years, I'm all for it. I am a little nervous. I know that I will be a lot nervous once the day comes. I have to have a Gastroesophagoduodenoscopy done on July 27th which doesnt sound like much fun either. It where they stick that camera down your throat. Ughh. I just want to get it overwith.

Jax

We are watching Jax again this weekend. He belongs to Joe. You know, owner of Joes Knighthawk. Anyway, Jax has been real good. He thinks he is smaller than what he is. And he is really scared of thunder and fireworks sounds.

Gunder

Here's what I had for lunch today. A one pound Gunder burger. Pretty awesome stuff. I finished the whole thing. In fact, it has been the second time I have done so. It's a little old restaurant called the Irish shanty located in Gunder Iowa. Pretty cool place.

Just anotha day

I thought now would be a great time to write in the blog. Layin' in bed. Getting ready to go to sleep. Bored. Yea, why not? It's been a little while since I had done so anyway. So, what's going on? Not much really. Same ole same ole. Just working and that's about it. It has been pretty warm lately. In fact the next few days are going to be pretty miserable with the humidity. Just gotta deal with it though. Wish I had some more cool things to report. But I don't. See ya next time.

More WoW updates

Been playing my undead warrior lately. Up to level 67 now. Trying to get to 68 so I can make my way over to Northrend. My deathknight, Craid (pictured), is still sitting at 75. Haven't been playing him much. I will eventually get him to 85.

Weird weather

Here we go again. Another post about weather. Anyway, last weekend I woke up to this. Huge hail. It only lasted a couple of minutes and then cleared up. Right now the weather is cool and cloudy pretty nice actually.

The heat is on

Here we are in June and the weather is pretty warm. Got the air conditioner going and even installed a window unit in the bedroom upstairs. I know, it's a little redneckie but what the heck. If it works it works. Not too happy about how the lawn is looking so far this year. I thought grass around here didn't really need any upkeep. But I guess I'm wrong. This fall I need to aerate and seed. That's about it for now. Just hanging out on a lazy Sunday. Back to work tomorrow.

Warcraft update

It's been a while since I have posted anything about world of Warcraft. So here we go. Still playing a bit. We are rolling some hordies on the ghostlands server. I have an undead warrior at level 49 now. And a goblin death knight at 73. It's pretty fun. Just ran some dungeons to close out the weekend.

Safe to say

It is indeed safe to say that spring is here. Weather has been beautiful the last few days. Did the first mow of the season last weekend. Now we have to brace for the heat. It's way better than the freezing cold though.

Didn't stand a chance

Poor little guy. Molly pretty much took credit for the kill. She does not like intruders in her yard. It's not the first animal she has ravaged. Last year, she pretty much tore some bird a new one.

Diners

I like diners. We found one in Cedar Falls the other day that was pretty good. Had some skillet thing. It wasn't bad. Always on the lookout for a really good diner. Like one from diners, drive ins and dives. You know. The show on the food network bi don't think they have done any episodes in Iowa yet. Maybe one day.

Final hours of April

Wow. Is it almost May already? Crazy. Seem like just yesterday it was February. We are still waiting for Spring to arrive here though. Still kinda cold but bearable. Not really sure what is going on. Tomorrow is May and lets hope it brings better weather with it. I am pretty sure it will.

Easter

Only about 45 minutes until Easter Sunday 2011. Gonna have some ham and fixins and basically be lazy. You know. Being Sunday and all. I remember when I was a kid, I used to love waking up on Easter Sunday and finding a huge basket full of candy. Now it's really just another day. Oh well. That's life I guess. I still do look forward to some good candy.

Got a cool app for my iPhone. It's called Camera plus. It's really cool and allows you to edit your pics in all sorts of cool ways. This is a pic I took today at work. Kinda cold and overcast today.

Your kidding right?

Ok. It's April. More than halfway through it. What is this white stuff falling from the sky? I gotta tell you, I don't like it. This spring has turned out to be less than favorable. Just heard on the radio that there is a winter weather advisory in effect. The key word in that sentence is winter. Uh, hello? Ah forget it. I have given up trying to figure out Iowa weather.

Random Stuff

Just thought I would post a quick blog about stuff thats going on. Well, not much i guess. Just bored. Thought i would type something. Weather is kinda up and down. Its been nice some days. And not so nice other days. Thats about it. I am at work now getting ready to start my day. Its thursday which means that we got some good shows on tv tonight.

Black Prophecy

Here is a pretty cool game that I got in on closed beta. Black Prophecy. Its pretty fun. The company is based out of Germany and they just started closed beta in North America. There is only one server and I am not sure where in North America it is. There is some pretty bad lag from time to time. But other than that, I like it. I t could use a few things. But its still in beta so we will see what happens. Check it out at Blackprophecy.com

Last Day Of March

Here we go. The last day of March. And the weather here still isn't that great. Been in the 30s and 40s for the most part. Let's hope that april has some better weather on the way.

Daylight Savings

The clocks have been sprung forward. I think it has been a pretty successful transition. I really don't feel like we lost an hour. The spring forward usually doesn't bother me because I know that Spring is just around the corner and the weather will start being awesome. So now that we have changed our clocks. Bring on the warm weather already!

Verizon Upgrade Coming Soon

I got one more month until I am eligible for upgrade at Verizon Wireless. i am not quite sure what phone I am going to get yet. I just know that it is NOT going to be another Blackberry. I have pretty much had it with RIM. No cool apps. The OS kinda sucks. I have been looking at Android. Possible iPhone now that the big V has it. Kinda hard to believe. I though this day would never come. But you know how it goes. you gotta have money to upgrade anyway. So I may end up getting a regular phone thats free. I haven't decided yet.

And here is the other game that I have been playing. Lord Of The Rings Online. Also, a pretty cool game. Graphics are a lot better. Kinda has a more "WoW" feel to it. Its a little easier to figure out.

DDO Continued

Been playing a little Dungeons and Dragons Online. Pretty fun. I am still trying to figure it out. I am currently up to level 7 rank 31. Its slow going. Not bad though.

What is going on here?

Look at this. Definitely not the same weather we had last march. Not too happy. Today is cold and windy. But I hear better weather is right around the corner.

Well, It's March

Ok. Any day now. Its still kinda cold. Even though the snow has been slowly melting. Its not been warm enough. Definitely not as warm as it was last year at this time. We are getting a little snow happening right now. Not too happy about that. Spring is right around the corner and I cant wait to take it all in. Just gotta be patient I guess.

Taking a break from World Of Warcraft again. Got a little burnt. Maybe I will start playing again. Not sure yet. Been playing a little Dungeons and Dragons Online. Its free so, you know. Cant beat that.

This year has started out pretty slow in the blog department. Not much really to report other than the weather. But I thought I would post another one since I have a few things on my mind. Ughh. I forgot now. Not much really going on. Getting a new fridge on Wednesday. Back to work tomorrow. The iphone is now on Verizon. Survivor starts up again on Wednesday. Green Bay won the Super Bowl. Battlestar Galactica Online

Here is another MMO that I am messing around with. Its pretty fun and runs right in the web browser. Its still in beta so there are some bugs to work out. But not bad. And free. You cant beat that I guess. I am currently up to level 4. We will see how this pans out. SciFi MMOs have always had problems catching on. Except for Eve Online. Which is a different kind of MMO completely. I still miss it. But they will have to do some major changes to it before I dive into it again.

Early Spring

Woa. Today the temps got up to the low 40's. A lot of snow meltage today. Not as much as I would have liked but enough. The next few days are going to be pretty warm. I am liking it. I don't want to get too used to it because it could get back down to freezing at any time. Its only mid February. But I will take this weather any day of the week.

In the thick of it

I dont have to post a pic of how nasty it is outside. I dont want to be reminded of how miserable it is right now. Major blizzard is happening right now and I am not a happy camper. Very very sad. I am counting the days until March. Just a few more weeks to go. I am pretty dang glad that January is out of the way. Now we gotta focus on getting through February and It will be all good.

Not much else going on though. Just workin'. Playin' a little WoW. Cleaning, staying inside mostly. You dont really want to be outside in this weather. The dogs are not liking this weather either. They dont get to play at all. Things will shape up soon enough. I just need to be patient I guess.

Fun in Tanaris

Just chillin' out in Tanaris now. Got my worgen up to level 47. The levels are still going fairly quick. But once I get to the 70-80s, it will feel like a stand still.

NFL playoffs

Its the last round of playoffs before the super bowl. The Bears play the Packers. And the Jets play the Steelers. To be honest, I have not been following it this year. But now, its time to pick a team. So I think the Bears might be the one. Or the Packers.

Waterloo Blackhawks

We finally got a chance to see the Waterloo Blackhawks hockey team the other night. It was pretty cool. The hawks won and the place was packed. We had a great time. Hope to get to a few more games before the season is done.

Happy New Year

Almost forgot what day it was. First day of 2011. And its a cold one as you might of guessed. I hope this year filled with good fortune. Things will be looking up in 2 months when the weather starts turning warmer.
