It's on like dk. I received my early access pass today. Logged in and had a blast. Servers were packed and there was a lot of que times happening. But that's expected on a release like this. I wanted to log in to a server my friend at work is on. But the que was so long, I had to choose another just so I could start playing. I love it. I hope more of my friends start playing. My wow account will expire and I don't see myself resubing any time soon. Swtor ftw.

Doh! Only 2 posts for November? I have been neglecting the blog this year. I have some serious catching up to do. Anyway, I went to new Mexico last week to visit the family for thanksgiving. It was ok. Good to see everyone again. Had a bit of green chile. Not as much as I would have liked though. Had a good time though. Got to see my new niece and nephew. Very cute. We had to take 3 different flights to get out there. Cedar rapids to Chicago. Chicago to Phoenix. Phoenix to Albuquerque. And the same route back. I think next time we will hopefully take a more direct route. Too many planes.

In other news. Star wars the old republic is coming soon. In about 2 weeks. I can't wait. It's gonna be fun. I am going to create a sith warrior to start out with. A few friends at work are playing too. It may be my wow replacement for a while.

The weather has taken a turn for the worse. It been pretty cold lately. Around 30 degrees. Not liking it one bit. But winter is almost here, so it is to be expected. We had a little snow a couple of weeks ago, but it has melted off.

I am going to be heading to New mexico for the holiday weekend. looking forward to it. Gotta get my fix of green chile.

Back to playing WoW a bit. Not liking the changes they have made recently. Not sure how much longer I am going to play. Star Wars the old republic is coming out soon. I got a beta invite that should occur this weekend, so I am looking forward to that too.

My Wow subscription has expired again. I am playing rift and league of legends. Really liking rift. Got one character to 20 and another to 13. Having fun. Rick is having pc issues so it has been a challenge for him to play. We are still trying to figure out what is going on with it. Hopefully we will get it fixed.

In other news, it's Sunday which means tomorrow is the dreaded m word. Ugh. Not looking forward to it at all.

I'm trying out some new games. World of Warcraft is cool and all, but I have been getting a little burnt. Dungeons and dragons online and lord of the rings online a great alternatives that I really like. I recently downloaded age of Conan and it as well is pretty good. Rift has a free trial weekend going on now so I am downloading it. Also I decided to give league of legends a try. Heard some pretty good things about it. So my pc has been doing some overtime in the download area lately. I should be able to game it up tomorrow night.

Yea yea. I'm still here. Just haven't posted a blog in a while. October is almost halfway over so I thought I would write something. Had another post op follow up with the endocrinologist today. Everything is cool in the gang. Next appointment in February. Been playing a bit of wow. Not much though. My sister in law just had a baby boy on the 7th. Seth is his name. Very cute. So that means that Charles won't be on the game in a while.

I don't know why. But it seems pretty hard for me to post anything that doesn't have to do with the weather. I don't like it. So this post will not mention the word...... Uh. Dang. Too late. Oh well. Let's move on. My Warcraft account expired a few days ago and I have not renewed it yet. I already kind of miss it. But I am going to be strong and hold out for a bit. I have been playing a little dungeons and dragons online and lord of the rings online. Both great games. And free. That's always good. I have also been playing a little pocket legends on my iPhone. Pretty fun little game. I think I am up to level 14. I shall return to wow in the near future though. Not sure when. I usually take these little breaks a couple of times a year. I think it's good so I don't get burned out.

Meanwhile. Guess who finally gave us a release date? That's right. Star wars the old republic. Very nice. I want to play it pretty bad. But, one thing to remember. It will cost about 50 bucks to buy the game first. So I will have to see where I am at financially at that time. Maybe I will ask for it for Christmas or my birthday since they both fall in December. I will be playing a sith warrior eventually. The force will be strong with me.

The weather has been getting a bit cooler lately. You know what that means? Yea. Temperatures are lower. That's right. Been pretty nice actually. Not too hot. Not too cold. Well, thanks for reading another lame ass post about the weather. The next paragraph won't be about the weather.

The hawkeyes won this weekend. I didn't watch the game. But I heard they made a 4th quarter run and beat Pittsburg in the final minutes. That's always good. But I still think they have a rough season ahead of them. I have been watching only a few minutes of the NFL lately. Gotta step up my game.

WoW Update

Been playing a little WoW lately. Got my Undead warrior to level 85 now and am working on randoms. Pretty fun stuff. Just trying to gear him up so I can run heroics. This dang heroics are hard. I have yet to get through one. I guess its all about getting the right group.

I am still unclear of my WoW future once SWTOR comes out. I really want to play it. I am hoping it will come out soon. We will see what happens I guess.

Surgery is done. Now on the road to recovery. I have been feeling a little better each day. It's been 5 days and I am so glad it's done. Still can't believe I had surgery. I was always dreading the day. But it wasn't too bad. Felt like I took a nap with no dream. Anyway, it's back to work on Monday. I should be ok to work I think.

Went to Minneapolis this last weekend and saw U2 at the TCF bank stadium. Uh, awesome. It was very cool. Even the torrential downpour that we received didn't alter the cool factor. This was the biggest concert I have ever been to. And one of the best.

Surgery

My first ever surgery is coming up soon. August 1st. I am having a thyroidectomy. Not looking forward to it. But if it can resolve this pain in my neck I have been having for the last 3 years, I'm all for it. I am a little nervous. I know that I will be a lot nervous once the day comes. I have to have a Gastroesophagoduodenoscopy done on July 27th which doesnt sound like much fun either. It where they stick that camera down your throat. Ughh. I just want to get it overwith.

Here we are in June and the weather is pretty warm. Got the air conditioner going and even installed a window unit in the bedroom upstairs. I know, it's a little redneckie but what the heck. If it works it works. Not too happy about how the lawn is looking so far this year. I thought grass around here didn't really need any upkeep. But I guess I'm wrong. This fall I need to aerate and seed. That's about it for now. Just hanging out on a lazy Sunday. Back to work tomorrow.

I have an undead warrior at level 49 now. And a goblin death knight at 73. It's pretty fun. Just ran some dungeons to close out the weekend.

Here is a pretty cool game that I got in on closed beta. Black Prophecy. Its pretty fun. The company is based out of Germany and they just started closed beta in North America. There is only one server and I am not sure where in North America it is. There is some pretty bad lag from time to time. But other than that, I like it. I t could use a few things. The clocks have been sprung forward. I think it has been a pretty successful transition. I really don't feel like we lost an hour. The spring forward usually doesn't bother me because I know that Spring is just around the corner and the weather will start being awesome. So now that we have changed our clocks. I got one more month until I am eligible for upgrade at Verizon Wireless. i am not quite sure what phone I am going to get yet. I just know that it is NOT going to be another Blackberry. I have pretty much had it with RIM. No cool apps. The OS kinda sucks. I have been looking at Android. Possible iPhone now that the big V has it. Kinda hard to believe. I though this day would never come. But you know how it goes. you gotta have money to upgrade anyway. So I may end up getting a regular phone thats free. I haven't decided yet.

Battlestar Galactica Online

Here is another MMO that I am messing around with. Its pretty fun and runs right in the web browser. Its still in beta so there are some bugs to work out. But not bad. And free. You cant beat that I guess. I am currently up to level 4. We will see how this pans out. SciFi MMOs have always had problems catching on. Except for Eve Online. Which is a different kind of MMO completely. I still miss it. But they will have to do some major changes to it before I dive into it again.

Woa. Today the temps got up to the low 40's. A lot of snow meltage today. Not as much as I would have liked but enough. The next few days are going to be pretty warm. I am liking it. I don't want to get too used to it because it could get back down to freezing at any time. Its only mid February. But I will take this weather any day of the week.

I dont have to post a pic of how nasty it is outside. I dont want to be reminded of how miserable it is right now. Major blizzard is happening right now and I am not a happy camper. Very very sad. I am counting the days until March. Just a few more weeks to go. I am pretty dang glad that January is out of the way. Now we gotta focus on getting through February and It will be all good.

Not much else going on though. Just workin'. Playin' a little WoW. Cleaning, staying inside mostly. You dont really want to be outside in this weather. The dogs are not liking this weather either. They dont get to play at all. Things will shape up soon enough. I just need to be patient I guess.

Its the last round of playoffs before the super bowl. The Bears play the Packers. And the Jets play the Steelers. To be honest, I have not been following it this year. But now, its time to pick a team. So I think the Bears might be the one. Or the Packers.

Finally. I got my new PC. It has been a a long time coming. I cant even remember how long I have had my old one. Its been very long. Now I am finally up to date. I got it from Cyberpower PC and its awesome. I did a lot of research before finally deciding to go with Cyberpower. They looked like the best deal to me. And I got a killer deal. I can now add Chicago to the list of places I have been to. We just got back yesterday. It was fun. But would have been a lot better if it wasn't cold and snowy out. I guess we picked the wrong time to go. Rain on Saturday and then Snow on Sunday. We headed out of town on Sunday afternoon and the wind was so bad, we couldn't barely see with all the blowing snow. We actually had to stop on the interstate for a while. It wasn't fun. But I am glad we are back now. We will go back one day. Just not in the Winter.

Recently, I placed an ad on Craigslist selling my drum set. Little did I know the mass amount of scammers from Nigeria that are out there trying to steal our hard earned money. I got fed up with the number of scammer emails I was receiving and decided to have a little fun and waste the scammers time in the process. Here is the email string.

Here it comes. Another World of Warcraft expansion is on the horizon. Launching in just a couple of days. December 7th will be the day. I am going to wait myself though. I dont see the servers being playable for least a couple days after. Thats how the expansions usually go. Everyone gets so excited, that they forget what a madhouse it is when it launches. Then they freak out and get all pissed that they cant log in. Uh hello? Did you learn nothing from the past expansions? Some people will never learn. I will play the new expansion. Just not on launch day when everyone and their mother is trying to log in. I can wait.

Here it is. Got our first snow of the season yesterday. Only got a couple of inches, but its still something. Kind of depressing knowing that the snow will stick around for at least another 3 months. Let the countdown begin. 90 days and counting till the weather starts warming up again and the snow starts to melt away. I cant wait. It seems like the summer went too fast. Oh well, no use complaining about it. The sad fact is that winter is here and its gonna be a long cold one.

Its another Thanksgiving. Its very cold out right now so I think I will be staying in for the most of the day. Here is another game that I have been playing as a replacement to WoW. Its pretty fun. Still learning the system. Also free to play to an extent. I like that. I just need to get a new PC to make my games run better. The one I have is very old and on its last leg. I have been trying to sell my drum-set for the last couple of months now. Not having much luck. There was a guy that was supposed to come over yesterday to check it out. But he flaked out on me. So, back to square one.

Sad to say. My world of warcraft subscription has expired yet again. Need a break from it I guess. Hopefully I will get a new pc soon that will run it better. For now though, I have been playing dungeons and dragons online. I have to say, I am getting kind of addicted to it. I don't know what it is but its pretty dang fun. And it doesn't come with a monthly subscription fee which makes it that much better. I am still a pretty hard core noob at it. Especially since I never played the table top version. But I'm learning.

Here we go. Fall is just around the corner and the temperatures have dipped to a more comfortable level. Hard to believe that summer is pretty much over. Kinda strange for me to say, but I think I am ready for winter. It hit me pretty hard last year. I wasn't expecting such a cold one. But this time, I know what is coming and I will be prepared. At least I hope I will be.

Other than the lame weather info, not much else really exciting to report. Been just chillin' out taking it day by day. Survivor is back on again and I couldn't be happier. I love that show. The season premier was last wednesday were we saw the first person voted off. You know, one of those people you forget about that really didn't make a big presence in the game. 2 more days till the next episode. In fact, a bunch of shows will be back very shortly and I need to find the time to watch them all. Thank goodness for dvr.

Check it out. We made grape jam out of the grapes we have growing in our backyard. Pretty cool if you ask me. I haven't tried it yet but I'm sure its pretty good. Here I am in Minneapolis on a 4 hour layover. Heading back to Iowa. I could actually drive from here and make it back sooner. Its not too bad though. It actually goes pretty quick. Kinda looking forward to getting home. Its the whole “work” thing that gives it that “kinda” tag. Really looking forward to seeing the fam and the pets again. Had a great trip in NM. Weird seeing it after all this time. But anyways, it will feel good to be home. Got a short work week this week. And a short work week next week due to Labor day. Life is good.

No. I won’t do it. I won’t complain about this tropical heat and humidity. I will not complain that I sweat bullets after 5 minutes of being outside. I won’t complain that I am sweating right out of the shower. It was me, yes me, that was praying for this type of weather in the freezing cold winter. So I just need to deal with it. Spring and Fall are my friends. Summer is a bully. But one I can deal with. Winter is just plain evil. So here I am saying, hey summer, you may be unpleasant, but I can deal with you.

Washington Island

Here is a place I have never been to and didn’t know existed. It is an island just north of the door peninsula of Wisconsin. The ferry ride to it was cool. Other than that, it was uneventful. Stay tuned through out the month for more pics from our Wisconsin vacation.

Well. Here we are. Finally back from our trip to Wisconsin. We went to Sturgeon bay in Door county. Very cool area. We stayed at a campground called Harbour Village Resort that was fun. More aimed at kids but still good for adults too. Weather was nice. Had a nice thunderstorm the last night we were there. Took a boat tour of green bay and lake Michigan. Also took a ferry to Washington island which was ok. The island was nothing special. The ferry ride was the best part. They are big on cherries there. Not sure if ot has something to do with George Washington. All in all, had a good time. Now back to the grind.

Wow. Is june almost over? Seems hard to believe that its almost the fourth of July. Time is definitely flying by lately. Next thing I know, it will be winter again and I will be freezing my arse off again praying for the summer. Gotta live it up while I can I guess while it still is the summer. This is the time I had been dreaming about last January.

I rode my bike to work yesterday for the first time. I don't know what took me so long to do it. It only takes ten minutes and I get at least a little exercise out of it. I should do that more often.

No matter how many times a run through the same quests in the same area. I never really get sick of it. Here I am working Hartigann up to level 80. This is will be my 4th 80 in World of Warcraft. Only at level 69 right now but the levels are going quick. I should hit 80 pretty soon. Maybe by the end of the summer. As of right now, he is leveling in Howling Fjord. Did a bit in Borean but I like the Fjord better.

Man I missed this place. Still one of my favorite places in WoW. Finally getting back into world of warcraft after a 3 month break. 3 months too long. I missed talking and hangin with my friends. Maybe that is what I like about mmo games. Even though I am far away from my friends and family, I can feel close to them when playing. I don't know. Sounds kind of cornball and all. But I'm glad to be back. That is all.

By the way. That whole Cell spin thing is a ripoff. What a waste. I hated it and uninstalled it pretty quickly. So kindly disregard the last couple of posts about it.

On another note. Our pups Moose got back from the vet today after having his balls removed. Poor buddy. He seems pretty chipper though. Don't think he knows what happened. He still tries to hump Molly, but that may just be some left over hormones that will eventually go away.

Its may and I thought I better get a blog in. Today is the mexican holiday cinco de mayo. I don't really celebrate it. I guess its a good excuse to drink and party down. The weather has been quite windy the last few days. Not a big fan of wind. Kinda ranks up there with snow. But I guess it happens and I just got to live with it. At least it has been warm. That's good enough for me.

I was trying to reload my firmware on my storm last night and guess what happened? Reboot loop. Cannot get out of it. Just keeps rebooting. I tried everything. I am getting a replacement sent to me on Monday. For now though, I am using my old Curve 8330. I forgot how much I miss the physical keyboard. Still a pretty cool phone. I am actually writing this blog with it right now. When my upgrade comes up, I am going to try to get the new Bold that is being launched soon. We will see.
